Christmas Table Styling Tips

Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones and the main meal should be enjoyed and not rushed. To create a relaxed and elegant table, there is no right or wrong!  Try using different-shaped platters, bowls, and plates to put food on.

If you are looking to create some interest at your Christmas table, remember to mix and match the crockery.  Patterned side plates or plates with festive words look great when teamed with plain or coloured crockery.  Layer your plates with your napkins and add some flora, fresh or dried flowers, wreaths, pinecones, or leaves.

Your main table setting can always have candles, regardless of the time of day. They help create the right mood and add atmosphere or a special fragrance.  With so many candles and holders to choose from – candlesticks to tea lights, lanterns, and glass votives we are spoiled for choice!  Try clustering a group of pillar candles on a plate in the middle of the table for a clean and simple look.  Or if the weather plays ball and you are BBQ-ing this Christmas hang some lanterns in the trees and scatter about some throw rugs and cushions for a beautiful relaxed NZ Christmas vibe!

Whatever happens on the day don’t sweat the small stuff and most of all remember to enjoy your day and time with loved ones!

Have a very Merry Christmas
